Results of February 16, 2014 Meeting

The Draft Agenda was discussed and approved.  However, it was decided to tackle the Draft Vision/Mission Statement item prior to discussing the name of the "new church".

Meeting Summary:  Several suggestions were made to change specific wording of several of the statements in the Draft Vision/Mission Statement.  Good discussion ensued.  Opinions differed on some of the wording, especially the subject of "valuing a diversity of Christian backgrounds."  No decisions were finalized.  Some participants stated that they needed more time to think and pray about some of these issues.

It was agreed that we would meet again after church next Sunday (February 23) to continue discussions.  In the interim we will look at the suggested wording and make e-mail comments to the "webmaster" (alanelizabethh@gmail.com) which will be posted on this site in preparation for the next meeting.

At 1:30 the meeting adjourned.  The name for the "new church" was not discussed.

Original Draft Vision:

To be disciples of the one true God in response to the wonderful gift of salvation He has given us through the death and resurrection of His son, Jesus Christ.  As His disciples, it is our responsibility to share the love he has shown us with others and invite them to be disciples also.   Our overall Vision therefore is to effectively and lovingly serve all of God’s people with focus on those living in or visiting the Boundary area but extending, with the Lord’s guidance, to others.
