Configuring Microsoft Outlook
- Click the Tools menu at the top of the window.
- Click on Email Accounts.
- Select View or change existing e-mail accounts and then click on next.
- Click on the Change button.
- Under User Information:
- Your name: (Enter a name you want people to see when they get email from you).
- E-mail Address: your E-mail address.
- Under Server Information:
- Incoming mail (POP3): pop.uci.net
- Outgoing mail (SMTP): smtp.uci.net
- Under Logon Information
- User Name: enter your full email address (example username@uci.net).
- Password: enter your password.
- Do not check "Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)".
- Click on the More Settings button.
- Click on the Outgoing Server tab.
- Put a check in box for My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication, with the dot in User same settings and my incoming mail server.
- Click on Okay.
- Click on Next.
- Click of Finish.
