Configuring Microsoft Outlook

  1. Click the Tools menu at the top of the window.
  2. Click on Email Accounts.
  3. Select View or change existing e-mail accounts and then click on next.
  4. Click on the Change button.
  5. Under User Information:
    1. Your name: (Enter a name you want people to see when they get email from you).
    2. E-mail Address: your E-mail address.
  6. Under Server Information:
    1. Incoming mail (POP3): pop.uci.net
    2. Outgoing mail (SMTP): smtp.uci.net
  7. Under Logon Information
    1. User Name: enter your full email address (example username@uci.net).
    2. Password: enter your password.
  8. Do not check "Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)".
  9. Click on the More Settings button.
  10. Click on the Outgoing Server tab.
  11. Put a check in box for My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication, with the dot in User same settings and my incoming mail server.
  12. Click on Okay.
  13. Click on Next.
  14. Click of Finish.
